UP Scholarship Status 2023 – Uttar Pradesh
UP Scholarship is a government-launched program developed for students. Its main objective is to help students with finance. The scholarship includes various pre-matric and post-matric schemes. However, every scholarship has its own set of criteria. So to apply for the scholarship, students must meet the eligibility criteria. Detailed Eligibility Criteria of UP Scholarship
To apply for a different scholarship, here is the eligibility criteria to be followed by students:
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
- This scholarship is available for students of classes 9th and 10th. The students must belong to the SC/ST/General category.
- Another criterion to be fulfilled is that the annual family income must not exceed INR 1 lakh.
2. Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minorities
- This scholarship is available for students of class 9th or 10th and belongs to the minority community.
- The annual family income shouldn’t exceed INR 1 lakh.
3. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC
- This scholarship is available for students of classes 9th and 10th and belongs to the OBC category.
- The annual family income shouldn’t exceed INR 1 lakh.
4. Post-matric Intermediate Scholarship
- This scholarship is available for students of classes 11th and 12th and belongs to SC/ST/General category.
- The annual family income for general candidates should not exceed INR 2 lakh and for SC/ST candidates it must not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
5. Post-matric Scholarship (other than intermediate)
- This scholarship is available for students of graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D., or higher level and belongs to the SC/ST/General category.
- For general candidates, The annual family income shouldn’t exceed INR 2 lakh and for SC/ST candidates it must not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
6. Post-matric Scholarship (other than the state)
- This scholarship is available for students of class 11th or above and belongs to the SC/ST/General category.
- The annual family income must not exceed INR 2 lakh for general candidates and for SC/ST candidates it must not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.
7. Post-matric Scholarship (Intermediate)
- This scholarship is available for students of 11th and 12th and belongs to the minority community.
- The annual family income shouldn’t exceed INR 2 lakh.
8. Post-matric Scholarship (Intermediate for OBC)
- This scholarship is available for students of classes 11th and 12th and belongs to the OBC category.
- The annual family income shouldn’t exceed INR 2 lakh.
9. Post-matric Scholarship (other than intermediate for OBC)
- This scholarship is available for students doing graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D., or higher level and belongs to the OBC category.

How to Apply for UP Scholarship
The Government of UP has launched its online system to ease the application process. All students can apply online and here are the steps to follow:
- Step 1
The very first thing you need to do is to visit the official website of UP Government’s Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System at scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Step 2
Now scroll and go to the student section and click on the new registration. Besides, if you’re already a student, then click on the renewal login option according to the scholarship you’re applying for.
- Step 3
Here you can select the scholarship you want to apply for. If you’re already a student, then log in using your date of birth, password, and registration number.
- Step 4
Once selected now you’ll have to fill in all the necessary details both personal as well as qualification including all that are marked with an *. Besides, make sure you upload all necessary documents as well as photographs.
- Step 5
Once filled, make sure you recheck everything to avoid mistakes. Now click on submit to register.
- Step 6
Once you submit, keep a print of the registration for further evidence. You can also submit it to the education institute along with the form and other supporting documents.
Documents Required for UP Scholarship
To apply for the UP Scholarship students must also have the following documents:
- Residential proof such as an Aadhaar card, voter id, etc.
- Applicant’s passport-size photograph
- Income certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Students ID proof
- Mark sheets
- A caste certificate can also be required (not for all. So you need to check out from various sources whether you need this document or not)
- The fee receipt that was paid for the current year
- Students’ bank passbook.
Applicants with no genuine documents will fail to avail of this scholarship. Also, make sure every document is in proper size and format.

The UP Scholarship program allows both new students as well as users to check their UP Scholarship Status. So whether you’re applying for the first time or for a renewal, you can visit the online system and keep track of your application. However, to check UP Scholarship Status, fresh candidates must log in to their dashboard using a password, date of birth, and registration number. Besides, the existing users can check their previous years’ UP Scholarship Status or application status through the Status section on their online system.
